Is North Korea Changing ?
by fulltimestudent inthere's a good chance that a process of change is occurring in nk, which i'll come back to, as first i'd like to briefly explain how korea became divided.. i've spent a lot of time this past calendar year on the history and development of korea, this last semester focussing on modern korea with all its sadness, commencing with the japanese takeover in 1905, and the full annexation and military occupation in 1910. .
many korean's (naturally) opposed the japanese occupation.
some actively fought the japanese as guerilla's in the mountains.

So since I have a free pass for the grammar board game I need more information. So i can hatch an insidious plot with the help of an incorrigible monkey and some komodos from wibblandia.

WOW! What a dilemma
you put one space in you put two spaces out you put one space in and you shake it all about you do the hokey pokey and you turn it all around that's what it's all about

I really thought i was going to live forever
by Aussie Oz inrandom discussion today ended up in my wife mentioning when she saw halley's comet (1986?
) and all of a sudden i had a total recall moment!.
when it came by, rather than make the effort to watch it, i flippantly said "nah, i'll see it next time!".

I was a witness in the middle of my life so I was going to die then maybe not and now back to dying again. i have no idea what we are or what's going on here i'm in some strange place mentally right now just living each day out of morbid curiosity i guess. I feel like we humans had a puzzle box with a picture and now we've found alot of pieces that don't fit the picture on the box and we have to decide what were going to do about it.

She Lost Her Man
by compound complex in.
she peers into a water whose blackness is obsidian, whose depth is leagues greater than that of an atlantean trench that swallows, to this day, unwary mariners in search of mysterious ports of call.. is it a wandering lost love whom she seeks, him in search of el dorado, a hidden city of overgrown ruins, an impassable verdure that beckoned a foolish man to abandon home and hearth and true love?.
the woman looks in vain: dark water cannot be fathomed any more so than the fickle heart of a lover who abandoned her when seduced by elusive, temporal riches that whispered from below .

So long Marianne it's time we began to laugh an cry and cry and laugh about it all again
for now i need your hidden love I'm cold as a new razor blade
you left when I said that I was curious I never said that I was brave
so so long Marianne it's time we began to laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again
Oh you really are such a pretty one I see you've gone and changed your name again
and just when I climbed this whole mountainside to wash my eyelids in the rain
So so long Marianne it's time we began to laugh and cry and cry and laugh about it all again
Part of the song So long Marianne by Leonard Cohen

My mother passed away this morning...
by Tatiana infor any old-school ex-jws here that remember my many posts about my abusive jw mother and my sister committing suicide because of it...she passed away this morning because she began to bleed out and refused a transfusion.
she had been in the hospital for a month.
it appears she suffered a stroke and wasn't found by the brothers & sisters for three days (they missed her at the meetings).

If There was a Cosmic Pain meter...
by cofty inimagine that it was possible to precisely measure the amount of suffering in the world at any given moment - a cosmic "pain meter".
decide for yourself what the unit of measurement would be.. we can only imagine a fraction of the combined suffering that is being felt right now.
physical pain, emotional despair, grief, desperation, loss, terror and hopelessness.. of course if there is an omniscient god then he knows to the last iota what that theoretical meter would read right now.. the bible contains a number of answers to the question of suffering - ever since the babylonian exile one popular answer has been to blame his nemesis the devil, "we know that we are children of god, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one.

I can see why humans have come to the conclusion that were being punished for something or tested because this horrible world we live in makes no sense. We find out early that we're sitting under a guillotine and we're supposed to enjoy ourselves as we wait for it to drop. we're taught that there's a god who loves us but deep inside it doesn't feel right it doesn't look that way. i don't know what's going on here but whatever it is i don't like it.
i've tried out alot of things but now at 62 as I get older i thought I would find the answers but all I have are questions. So here's to the cosmic pain meter
